America @ 250
Featured Speaker: Mike Bunn on "Fourteenth Colony"

On June 28 at 2 PM CDT, historian Mike Bunn will present a program about his book, "Fourteenth Colony: The Forgotten Story of the Gulf South During America's Revolutionary Era." This presentation is part of the library's observation of the 250th birthday of the United States of America. It's a great opportunity to learn more about some lesser known aspects of Alabama history, including how the colony of West Florida, composed of what are now the states of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi, experienced the Revolution.

The library board is grateful to the Alabama Humanities Alliance which is providing funding for this event through their Road Scholars grant program.
