Wow! During the week the remnants of Hurricane Irma blew through town, we had well over a thousand books donated to the library! Since they were dropped off on our front porch and left unattended, many of the books got wet before we had a chance to sort through them. Sadly, most had to be disposed of. We love donations, and must insist that all books be brought into the library during our open hours (T, Th 3–6pm, Sat 9am–12pm). All books MUST be in clean condition, with no damage, mildew or odor. Hundreds of the donated books that we were able to salvage are romance novels, so we’re selling them for a dime a book. Come by and browse through them, as well as all the other books in a variety of genres which are part of our ongoing book sale. And please stop by our booth at Colorfest to say hi and browse our collection. Do you enjoy chess and other games of strategy? On Saturday mornings from 10-12, come to the library to find a partner! Age does not matter—these are intergenerational games! We have both "young" and "mature" players who enjoy the fun of strategy... It's a great way to make new friends! Kelly Leavitt
